Na China, jovens instruídos de Pequim são enviados para a reeducação no campo durante a Revolução Cultural (1966-76). Em seus momentos de descanso, se reuniam para trocar livros e escritos secretos, e recitar poemas deles, de outros poetas chineses, e até de autores estrangeiros. Logo, um grupo de jovens poetas cria a Comunidade Poética de Baiyangdian, nome do lago e da vila de pescadores na cidade de Baoding, província de Hebei. Retornando à capital, fundam a Jintian, primeira revista literária extraoficial da República Popular da China, em 1978. Depois de circular nos salões literários clandestinos, alguns de seus poemas são republicados na revista oficial de poesia Shikan, e chamam a atenção nos círculos poéticos. Muito diferentes dos poemas socialistas aos quais todos estavam acostumados, aqueles poemas experimentavam novas formas, conteúdos e imagens, exploravam a linguagem de uma maneira inovadora aos padrões da época. Esta corrente poética vanguardista e marginal não foi compreendida pelos críticos mais conservadores de seu tempo, que a denominaram Poesia Nebulosa. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo destacar os principais eventos que marcaram a cena literária na China ao longo do século XX até o surgimento da corrente poética nebulosa; descrever sua origem, formação e desenvolvimento entre as décadas de 1970 e 1980, através da seleção e tradução de trechos de artigos e livros de referência; revisar a literatura das antologias e estudos críticos em línguas chinesa, inglesa e portuguesa; apresentar a vida e obra de cinco expoentes da Poesia Nebulosa: Bei Dao, Mang Ke, Shu Ting, Duoduo e Yang Lian; e propor a tradução literária em português de um de seus poemas mais representativos, acompanhada de comentários sobre o contexto de criação e publicação das obras, observações sobre as particularidades da língua chinesa nos poemas, e justificativas sobre as escolhas feitas ao longo do processo tradutório

In China, educated youth from Beijing are sent to the countryside for re-education during the Cultural Revolution (1966-76). In their leisure moments, they gathered to exchange books and secret writings, and to recite their poems, besides other Chinese and Foreign poems. Soon, a group of young poets creates the Baiyangdian Poetic Community, named after the lake and fishing village in Baoding City, Hebei Province. Returning to the capital, they founded Jintian, the first unofficial literary magazine of the People's Republic of China, in 1978. After circulating in clandestine literary salons, some of their poems were republished in the official poetry magazine Shikan, and drew attention in poetic circles. Very different from the socialist poems that everyone was used to, those poems experimented new forms, contents, and images, exploring language in an innovative way. This avant-garde and marginal poetic current was not understood by the most conservative critics of his time, who entitled it as Misty Poetry. The present work aims to highlight the main events that marked the literary scene in China throughout the 20th century until the emergence of the misty poetic current; describe its origin, formation and development between the 1970s and 1980s, through the selection and translation of excerpts from articles and reference books; review its literature of anthologies and critical studies in Chinese, English, and Portuguese; present the life and work of five exponents of Misty Poetry: Bei Dao, Mang Ke, Shu Ting, Duoduo and Yang Lian; and propose a literary translation into Portuguese of one of their most representative poems, accompanied by comments on the works creation and publication context, observations on the particularities of the Chinese language used in the poems, and justifications on the choices made throughout the translation process
