Keywords in Portuguese
China Antiga
Confucianismo
Ritos
Xamanismo

Abstract in English
This research aims to identify shamanic aspects at the origin of the concept of "rites" proposed by the thinker of ancient China Confucius. Because it is an ancient and influential Tradition, Confucianism has diverse ideas and a multifaceted character. "Rites" makes up a key idea in this scheme. Confucius with an objective definition of concepts from his thought, quotes from him and sources from scholars of his line of thought reveal a wide range of meanings that this term expresses. Conventional notions of rites as religious practices go hand in hand with norms of behavior and etiquette, in addition to institutions and practices implemented by virtuous figures of the past. According to these various manifestations for Confucius' "rites", attention is drawn to one of its various origins, such as shamanic traditions, present in the beginnings of Chinese civilization. In the course of the research, the appearance of Chinese shamanism and its transformation process will be identified until arriving at the "rites" model established by Confucius, through the selected sources and with bibliographic support.
