Keywords in Portuguese

Histórias curtas
Literatura russa
Marginalidade
Redenção

Abstract in English
This work aimed to observe how Dostoevsky articulated the socioeconomic and subjective marginality of his characters to different representations of the Christian concept of redemption in four texts originally published in the independent version of the Diary of a Writer between 1876 and 1877: -The beggar boy at Christ's Christmas party?, -The peasant Marey?, -The meek one? and -The dream of a ridiculous man?. The representations of marginality in these texts were observed taking into account two thematic axes: the specific conditions experienced by the Russian people, composed of the poorest and most marginalized strata of society, and the feeling of non-belonging and social exclusion experienced by underground spirits and how they reverberate in their relationships with the whole. The rationalization of life and its dynamics does not appear as a way out of the problems faced in society, but as a catalyst for internal and external crises. Dostoevsky's literature seems to point to other particularities of human life that must be carefully observed: those that are related to what transcends the material plane, permeated by the divine. Thus, the characters of these texts seek their particular redemptions in the midst of the chaos of modern life under construction, having as an aid a common denominator in these stories: the love of neighbor taught by Christ. In this context, the Diary of a Writer appeared as an important space in which Dostoevsky's reflections on these dynamics of human existence were periodically exposed to readers, which justifies the research carried out in the texts of this publication.
