Esta dissertação analisa a obra de Fílon de Alexandria, com foco em sua interpretação do destino das almas em Gênesis 28, sob a influência do pensamento helenístico. Fílon, um proeminente filósofo judeu-helenista, desenvolveu uma abordagem única ao combinar conceitos filosóficos gregos com os ensinamentos da tradição judaica. Por meio de uma análise aprofundada de seus escritos, examinamos como Fílon interpreta o episódio de Jacó e a escada celestial, explorando a conexão entre as almas individuais e sua jornada após a morte. A pesquisa revela que Fílon utiliza elementos do platonismo e do aristotelismo para articular sua visão sobre a imortalidade da alma e sua relação com a providência divina. Ao fazer isso, ele transcende os limites das interpretações tradicionais e oferece uma perspectiva única sobre o destino das almas. Concluímos que a influência do pensamento helenístico na interpretação de Fílon destaca sua contribuição significativa para o diálogo intercultural entre o judaísmo e a filosofia grega, bem como para a compreensão mais ampla do pensamento religioso e filosófico na época.

This dissertation examines the work of Philo of Alexandria, with a focus on his interpretation of the destiny of souls in Genesis 28, under the influence of Hellenistic thought. Philo, a prominent Jewish-Hellenistic philosopher, developed a unique approach by combining Greek philosophical concepts with the teachings of the Jewish tradition. Through an in-depth analysis of his writings, we explore how Philo interprets the episode of Jacob and the celestial ladder, investigating the connection between individual souls and their journey after death. The research reveals that Philo employs elements of Platonism and Aristotelianism to articulate his views on the immortality of the soul and its relationship with divine providence. In doing so, he transcends the boundaries of traditional interpretations and offers a distinctive perspective on the destiny of souls. We conclude that the influence of Hellenistic thought on Philo's interpretation highlights his significant contribution to the intercultural dialogue between Judaism and Greek philosophy, as well as to a broader understanding of religious and philosophical thought in that era.
