Nos documentos oficiais PCN (1998) e BNCC (2018), o texto é tratado como objeto de estudo das aulas de Língua Portuguesa e o enfoque dado aos aspectos discursivos vem contribuindo para uma nova perspectiva de língua, contexto no qual se destacam as escolhas lexicais. Entretanto, os professores ainda encontram dificuldades em sistematizar o ensino de léxico, assim como faltam referências para as práticas pedagógicas. Neste trabalho, tem-se por objetivo apresentar parte de uma proposta didática sobre o léxico do conto Uma vela para Dario, de Dalton Trevisan, aplicada em turmas de 9º ano da Escola Estadual Olga Cury, em Santos SP. Os estudos de Richards (1976) e Nation (1990) sobre o ensino de léxico serviram como base para o desenvolvimento das atividades e a partir deles buscou-se elaborar parte de uma sequência didática que orientasse, de forma metodológica e sistematizada, o trabalho do professor de Língua Portuguesa. Na análise final, foi possível observar o desenvolvimento do vocabulário receptivo e produtivo destes alunos, o que, consequentemente, auxiliou no processo de desenvolvimento das competências leitora e escritora.

In the oficial documents, PCN (1998) and BNCC (2018), the text is treated as the object of stydy of Portuguese Language classes and the focus given to discursive aspects contributed to new language perspective, a context in which lexical choices are highlighted. However, in didactic practices, the study of the lexicon is not systematized, as well as missing references of the teacher's work. This work aims to presente a pedagogical activity proposal for the lexicon study of the tale Uma vela para Dario, by Dalton Trevisan, applied in 9th grade classes at Olga Cury State School (Santos -SP). Richards (1976) and Nation (1990) studies about the teaching of lexicon it seeks to develop a proposal for pedagogical activity that guides, methodologically and systematically, the teacher's work of the Portuguese language. In the final analysis, it was possible to observe the development of the receptive and productive vocabulary of these students, which, consequently, helped in the process of developing reading and writing skills.
