Abstract in English
This Master's research outlined within the Humanities, Rights and Other Legitimacies Program, in the Powers, Policies and Resistances research line, analyzes the memories and narratives of five preschool education teachers: Ana Beatriz, Ana Flávia, Ana Paula, Camila and Renata. These women, through oral interviews, shared their trajectories and the concept they bring about racism in Brazilian society. It was through their memories and narratives that I was able to observe how anti-racist or racist behaviors are present at the school and in its daily practices. The aim was to bring, during the interviews, the trajectory of each of these white and black women, preschool teachers and the reflection they develop on the laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08 and their importance for the formation of citizens. Racism, which is structuring in our society and in our relationships, is often so refined that it goes unnoticed in our eyes. In the chapters of this research we will observe, through the teachers' narratives, how they deal with the institutional racism that affects the lives of children in preschool education. Through the narratives, the teachers presented the challenges of identifying and talking about racism in the school environment, the issue of the lack of teacher qualification and, at the end, along with the considerations, we will bring together proposals for anti-racist practices based on the interviewees' reports. The methodological procedure used in this dissertation was Oral History, which aims at sensitive listening and, above all, respects the memories and narratives of those involved in the analysis. Theorists such as Silvio Almeida, Kabengele Munanga, Sueli Carneiro and Neuza Souza were fundamental to the debates on structural racism
