Abstract in English
This research aims to document and analyze the São Paulo scene of the musical genre called "Forró" from the point of view of Brazilian northeastern migrant musicians, women and men. Oral history was used as a theoretical and as a procedural basis. The collaboration was based on three networks: male musicians, female musicians and producers. Through life history interviews, physical documentation of this study, issues such as gender, age discrimination, social class and prejudice were discussed. The dialogue between the narratives revealed similarities and differences between the networks. The concepts concerning the musical styles called "pé-de-serra forró" and "university forró", the presence of young people involved in forro music, gender issues, and old hybrid dances are the main subjects discussed in this research.
