Abstract in English
This essay presents a reflection on the pedagogical practice of a teacher/conductor of the Choir of the Fábricas de Cultura in Jardim São Luís. In this experience, elaborated during seven years in the classroom, the teacher created the choir and produced musical shows with young residents of the city outskirts of the city of São Paulo. The field reports resulted in the ethnography produced from the meetings with the young people. The coexistence of the educator with the students reveals how the democratic experience contributes to the participants' self-esteem. Investigating how the choir practice takes place among young people participating in the Fábricas de Cultura program, taking into account the training of young people from peripheral territories, with high levels of vulnerability, is the guiding thread in the writing of this narration. It will lead us to reflect on how this Choir started, emphasizing the process of pedagogical experimentation of the teacher and her path of adapting Celestin Frenet's pedagogy to consolidate a vocal group, as Frenet's studies sought to develop tools for learning classroom based on group coóperation. It is concluded that the musical practice practiced in the Choir of the Fábricas de Cultura in Jardim São Luís can work as an instrument for the training of young people, enabling knowledge and self-knowledge. Thus, promoting social inclusion through the interaction between students within the dynamics of both the essay and the relationships that are established around it. In this way, the dynamics in the classroom provide an environment that attracts young people and all their free time to be used in the Fábricas de Cultura space. Thus, the relationship that develops is significant in the apprentice's life as it creates the desire to return to the program, as a way to revisit the experiences.
