O que o conhecimento presente em um terreiro de umbanda, localizado na periferia de São Paulo, tem a revelar a aquele produzido no interior das instituições científicas é o tema desta dissertação de mestrado. A partir dos princípios da produção partilhada do conhecimento, na qual a imprevisibilidade faz parte do método e se revela tão ou mais importante que as interpretações coincidentes, é possível refletir sobre como se dá o processo de aprendizagem em uma comunidade oral específica, o Templo de Umbanda Cantuá dos Orixás. Por meio do convívio da pesquisadora, que é também membro do terreiro, uma griô aprendiz, a pesquisa salienta questões relacionadas à relação universidade-comunidade; à transmissão dos fundamentos religiosos pela oralidade; e ao processo documental em audiovisual sobre a história do terreiro com base nas histórias de vida dos adeptos (ainda em produção).

What the knowledge present in an Umbanda, located on the outskirts of São Paulo, has to reveal to knowledge produced within scientific institutions is the theme of this master's thesis. Based on the principles of shared knowledge production, in which unpredictability is a part of the method and proves to be as or more important than coincident interpretations, it is possible to reflect on how the learning process takes place in a specific oral community, the Temple of Umbanda Cantuá dos Orixás. Through the interaction of the researcher, who is also a member of the umbanda temple, an apprentice griô, the research highlights issues related to the university-community relationship; the transmission of religious foundations through orality; and the documentary process in audiovisual about the history of the temple based on the life stories of the supporters (still in production).
