Keywords in Portuguese
Cuidado, Desigualdades, Gênero, Migração, Saúde, Violência
Title in English
Between the diaspora and the production of life: considerations on health, care and inequalities in the experiences of migrant women in São Paulo
Keywords in English
Care, Gender, Health, Inequalities, Migration, Violence
Abstract in English
The aim of this research was to debate the connection between migrant women in the city of São Paulo and the perpetuation of life itself, through a work of understanding their views on the factors that impact their physical and emotional health, main difficulties they face in health services, as well as their strategies of resistance to keep themselves alive and healthy. Through the analysis of their narratives, it is noticeable they face violences and inequalities known by Brazilian women, although, in the bodies of immigrant and refugee women, they are aggregated to further specific elements of the diaspora. Thereby, there is a range of efforts created and managed by migrant women to produce health and sustain their communities throughout networks of care that move everyday affections and struggles.
