Este trabalho investigou a participação das mulheres palestinas na literatura e na política entre a segunda metade do século XIX até os anos 1960. O período, que abrange acontecimentos chave que transformaram a realidade na Palestina, abarca dos salons (círculos literários) aos primórdios da adab al-mukawama (literatura de resistência). Partindo da observação de que há uma lacuna na historiografia sobre o tema com enfoque de gênero, em que as mulheres ou encontram-se marginalizadas ou invisibilizadas, as pesquisas realizadas possibilitaram jogar luz sobre este capítulo abrangente. Ao longo dos estudos, evidenciou-se seu protagonismo histórico, refletido em sua produção literária no período. Seus escritos, sejam poesias, contos, romances ou autobiografias, mostraram-se ademais uma janela para se entenderem tanto influências internas ou externas ao seu desenvolvimento quanto a evolução dos acontecimentos na Palestina. Ao trilhar esse caminho, ficou evidenciado que não raro a produção literária de mulheres palestinas, seja ficcional ou autobiográfica, desde as primeiras décadas do século XX, se entrecruza com seu envolvimento na política e, em especial no pós-Nakba, na resistência à ocupação israelense. Também se revelaram suas demandas próprias, ao encontro do denominado feminismo anticolonial, que considera indissociável a emancipação das mulheres e a libertação nacional. This study explored the participation of the Palestinian women in literature and politics from the second half of the 19th century to the 1960s. The period comprises key events that changed the Palestinian reality, from the salons (literary circles) to the early days of the adab al-mukawama (resistance literature). By realizing a loophole in the genre-focused historiography about the subject, in which the women are marginalized or utterly erased, this research enabled us to highlight this overarching chapter. Over the studies, their historical protagonism was demonstrated, reflected in their literary production over time. Their written works whether poetry, short stories, novels, or memoirs arose as quite a window to understanding the inner and outer influences to their development in tandem with the incidents in Palestine. By following this course, it was testified the frequent crossroads between the literary production by Palestinian women, whether fictional or autobiographical, since the first decades of the 20th century, and their involvement in politics and especially post-Nakba in the resistance to the Israeli occupation. Their demands were also unveiled, under the so-called anti-colonial feminism, regarding as inextricable the struggles for womens empowerment and national liberation. By filling these fundamental pages, this study aims to deconstruct orientalist stereotypes that embolden colonization and, therefore, to change the reality
