A presente dissertação se propõe fazer uma análise léxico-gramatical da tradução japonesa Donki-ō bōkentan (Relato das aventuras de Donki-ō), no intuito de mostrar a influência que teve a tradução literal de línguas estrangeiras na língua japonesa. Esta tradução, publicada na terceira década do período Meiji, está marcada pela presença de dois estilos surgidos como consecuência da tradução literal do chinês (kanbun kundokutai) e das línguas ocidentais, principalmente o inglês (ōbunmyakutai). Ambos estilos podem ser considerados um resultado direto do fenômeno conhecido como hon'yakuchō (réplica da forma do texto fonte numa tradução). Para conduzir a análise foram compiladas as características linguísticas de ambos estilos mencionados, e foram selecionadas três de cada um deles. Os resultados mostraram a presença de ambos estilos, e quase todas as frases das 21 páginas analisadas, fungiram como exemplo de uma dessas características. De igual manera, dedicou-se uma seção à apresentação do nosso material de estudo e seu tradutor Matsui Shōyō, dramaturgo e crítico literário que merece a nossa atenção e reconhecimento.

This dissertation presents a lexico-grammatical analysis of the Japanese translation Donki-ō bōkentan (Tales of the Adventures of Donki-ō), in order to show the influence that the literal translation of foreign languages has had on the Japanese language. This translation, published in the third decade of the Meiji period, is marked by the presence of two styles that emerged as a consequence of literal translation from Chinese (kanbun kundokutai) and Western languages, mainly English (?bunmyakutai). Both styles can be considered a direct result of the phenomenon known as hon'yakuchō (replication of the form of the source text in a translation). The linguistic features of both styles mentioned were compiled, and three of each were selected to guide the analysis of the material. The results showed the presence of both styles, and almost every sentence on the 21 pages analyzed, fungused as an example of one of these features. Likewise, a section was dedicated to the presentation of our study material and its translator Matsui Shōyō, a playwright and literary critic who deserves our attention and recognition.
