Este trabalho consiste na tradução e análise crítica dos contos Sōjikei (Figuras semelhantes, 1971) e Tsuribashi (A ponte suspensa, 1977) da escritora japonesa Takahashi Takako (1932-2013), contextualizando-as em seus elementos socioculturais e econômicos, para além da herança literária a que a autora pertence. A análise principal é focada nos aspectos relativos à narração e espaço, bem como especificamente o modo como as figuras da mãe e da mulher são apresentados e problematizados. Desta forma, pretende-se determinar continuidades e rupturas estabelecidas em relação a representações literárias anteriores, expondo o modo como as obras dialogam com a visão tradicional do papel da mulher na sociedade japonesa.

This work consists of a translation and critical analysis of Japanese writer Takahashi Takako's (1932-2013) short-stories Sōjikei (Congruent Figures, 1971) and Tsuribashi (Suspended Bridge, 1977), contextualizing them in their sociocultural and economical elements, as well as the literary heritage to which the author belongs. The main analysis deals with aspects related to narrative and space, focusing specifically on how the concepts of femininity and motherhood are presented and questioned. In this way, we intend to determine which continuities and ruptures are established in regard to previous literary representations, in addition to showing the manner in which these works establish a dialogue with the traditional view of women's role in Japanese society.
