Neste trabalho, defendemos a tese de que entre-espaço e subespaço configuram-se como elementos narrativos relevantes na representação do deslocamento das personagens dos romances Livro, de José Luís Peixoto, e Os Malaquias, de Andrea Del Fuego. Para atestar essa ideia e elucidar os elementos por nós sugeridos, propomos a comparação dos dois livros, por meio da análise do itinerário das personagens Adelaide e Júlia, ambas órfãs e migrantes. Assim, buscamos demarcar o espaço nas duas obras e relacioná-lo com fatos históricos e dados geográficos, a fim de observar o trabalho estético literário responsável por organizar e enfatizar as intervenções no espaço realizadas pelo governo salazarista em Portugal e pelo mandonismo rural no Brasil. Intervenções que estão ligadas ao deslocamento e à orfandade. Ao final desta pesquisa, incorporamos um ensaio fotográfico lúdico, pois parece-nos eficaz estudar a ficção também por meio da própria ficção.

This research defends the thesis that between spaces and subspace are essential narrative elements in the representation of characters' displacement in the novels Livro, by José Luís Peixoto, and Os Malaquias, by Andrea Del Fuego. To attest this ideia, we propose the comparison of these books, through literary analysis about the characters' itinerary, particularly Adelaide and Júlia, both orphans and migrants. Thus, we seek to demarcate space in both works and relate it to historical facts and geographic data, in order to observe the literary aesthetic work responsible for organizing and emphasizing the interventions in space performed by the Salazarist government in Portugal and by rural mandonism in Brazil. Interventions, by the way, that are linked to displacement and orphanhood. At the end of this research, we incorporated a photographic essay, as it seems effective to study fiction through fiction itself.
