Este trabalho busca investigar e analisar o ensino da literatura e, em específico, o gênero poético na cultura escolar brasileira, particularmente em manuais didáticos utilizados como ferramentas pedagógicas. Pretende-se verificar mais detidamente as particularidades e as características do tratamento do gênero poético para jovens leitores das últimas séries do ensino fundamental. Como exemplo, procura-se analisar a concepção de literatura no novo documento que estabelece os parâmetros curriculares no Brasil, a Base Nacional Curricular Comum (BNCC), e no documento curricular das escolas públicas da cidade de São Paulo. Para isso, averígua-se o contexto histórico da instituição escolar brasileira, a instalação de uma cultura escolar e as transformações políticas, sociais e ideológicas ocorridas na sociedade. Busca-se analisar como tais mudanças refletiram na literatura destinada a esse público leitor. Assim, empenha-se em compreender quais seriam o espaço, a concepção e a função da literatura, em específico da poesia, no ensino de jovens leitores e discutir a importância de tal arte na formação de jovens em fase escolar. Nesse sentido, investigam-se algumas tensões entre a prática escolar do ensino de literatura e a formação de leitores literários propriamente dita. Para tanto, utilizam-se como fundamentação os estudos comparatistas da literatura bem como a historiografia desenvolvida por estudiosos das áreas de Letras e Educação

This work investigates and analyzes literature, in particular the poetic genre, in the Brazilian school culture and in different educational instances. We intend to analyze in detail the particularities and characteristics of the treatment of the poetic genre for young readers of the last grades of elementary school. Therefore, we seek to analyze the conception of literature in the new legislation that provides for the curricular parameters in Brazil, the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC), and in the curricula of public schools in the city of São Paulo. We investigate the historical context of the Brazilian school, the implementation of a school culture, and political, social, and ideological transformations that occurred in society. We seek to analyze how such changes reflect in the literature that aims this reading demographic. Thus, we also seek to understand which are the spaces, conceptions, and functions of literature, specifically poetry, in the teaching of young readers and discuss the importance of such art form for the training of young people in school. In this sense, we seek to analyze tensions between the school praxis of teaching of literature and the education towards literature readers. For that, we use comparatist studies and the historiography of scholars on Languages and Education as a basis for this study
