Nossa pesquisa busca compreender a especificidade do culto de Perséfone na cidade de Locres, sul da Itália, durante o século V a.C. O culto de Perséfone apresenta-se como um dos raros exemplos na Antiguidade em que a deusa aparece dissociada de sua mãe Deméter, constituindo uma singularidade que merece estudo aprofundado. O trabalho é fundamentado na análise dos pínakes, nossa fonte documental primária. Os pínakes sâo plaquetas votivas de terracota com cenas em relevo, manufaturadas em Locres durantes os anos 480-450 a.C. e são considerados como principais oferendas no santutário de Perséfone. Tais plaquetas retratam temas femininos, com ênfase aos momentos de preparação para o casamento. Trata-se, portanto, de um trabalho em que religião, mitologia, história e sociedade são investigadas a partir do escopo teórico e documental da Arqueologia, com destaque para os pressupostos da Arqueologia Cognitiva

This research aims to understand the specificity of the cult of the godness Persefone in the city of Locri, south Italy, during the 5th century B.C. The cult of Persefone give us a rare example from the Antiquity in which the godness is shown apart from his mother Demeter, what points to a particularity that demands special attention and studies. This paper is based on the analysis of the pínakes, our primary documentary source. The pínakes are votive clay relief plaques which scenes, made in Locri during the years 480-450 B.C. They are considered special offerings to Persefone, depicting moments of her myth with images about feminine themes, such as the wedding preparations. In conclusion, this paper investigates religion, mythology, history and society from the theorical point of view of Archaeology, mainly Cognitive Archaeology
