A aproximação comparativa do filme Madame Satã (2002) com o romance Bom Crioulo (1895) apesar da distância temporal que os separam e do fato de serem linguagens artísticas distintas estabelece-se com facilidade por causa da temática da homossexualidade e do protagonismo negro. O exame das obras revelou, entretanto, nexos entre ideologia racista e exploração socioeconômica em épocas específicas. O modo como cada artista confrontou a matéria social não está dado na superfície da obra. Para tanto, a análise guiada pela noção de forma perquiriu as contradições das vozes narrativas embutidas nas malhas do romance e do filme, acolhendo as disjunções encontradas nas perspectivas conflitantes, as quais dramatizam as disputas ideológicas do terreno real de onde as obras emergem. Mas não só, outros elementos como composição dos espaços enquanto campos das relações sociais, composição das personagens; no filme, a montagem das cenas, a trilha sonora e as disputas das classes baixas nela sedimentadas, o embate das lutas coletivas e individuais desfizeram a leitura unívoca ensejada unicamente pelo interesse temático. Em razão da clivagem narrativa e das tensões entre os elementos que estruturam as obras é possível entrever mediante exame atento de como o corpo apreende a exploração e a estigmatização sofrida no trabalho e na fruição pontos de vistas mais críticos em relação à realidade retratada, e também visões distorcidas, pelas ideologias vigentes, da matéria trabalhada

The comparative approximation of the film Madame Satã (2002) with the novel Bom Crioulo (1895) despite the temporal distance that separates them and the fact that they are distinct artistic languages is easily established because of the theme of homosexuality and black protagonism. The examination of the works revealed, however, links between racist ideology and socioeconomic exploitation at specific times. The way each artist confronted the social matter is not given on the surface of the work. Therefore, the analysis guided by the notion of form investigated the contradictions of the narrative voices embedded in the fabrics of the novel and the film, embracing the disjunctions found in the conflicting perspectives, which dramatize the ideological disputes of the real terrain from which the works emerge. But not only, other elements such as composition of spaces as fields of social relations, composition of characters; in the film, the montage of scenes, the soundtrack and the disputes of the lower classes settled in it, the clash of collective and individual struggles undo the univocal reading occasioned solely by thematic interest. Due to the narrative cleavage and the tensions between the elements that structure the works, it is possible to glimpse - through careful examination of how the body apprehends the exploration and stigmatization suffered in work and enjoyment - more critical points of view in relation to the reality portrayed, and also distorted views, by prevailing ideologies, of the material being worked on
