O romance Deus foi almoçar (2012), de Ferréz, se destaca pela sua singularidade em relação às demais produções literárias do escritor paulista, que comumente se identifica e é identificado como representante da chamada "literatura marginal". O romance em foco traz uma aparente ruptura com relação às suas obras anteriores que se sobressai no esvaziamento de índices espaciais e temporais, na intensa subjetividade e em um simbolismo que se expande ao longo do desenvolvimento do texto. Deus foi almoçar contrasta com, por exemplo, o romance inaugural de Ferréz, Capão Pecado (2000) e os livros de contos Ninguém é inocente em São Paulo (2006) e Os ricos também morrem (2015). Para melhor compreensão da extensão e dos limites do hibridismo representado por Deus foi almoçar, assim como dos seus efeitos, o presente trabalho propõe, além de esmiuçar a obra em uma análise crítica de aspectos de sua estruturação formal, considerar a reflexão metaficcional no contraste do romance em foco com as demais obras de Ferréz e o panorama da literatura contemporânea brasileira. Sob a luz do debate entre a crítica marxista em torno de Frederic Jameson e a teoria pós-colonial, pensaremos o seu percurso literário como uma estética em constante diálogo com a realidade que o cerca.

The novel Deus foi almoçar (2012) is distinguished by its singularity from the other Ferréz's literary productions, who identifies himself and is identified as the representative of the so called "literatura marginal". This novel brings an apparent rupture with his previous works, which stands out in the emptying of spatial and temporal indices, in the intense subjectivity and the symbolism that expands throughout the development of the text. For instance, Deus foi almoçar contrasts with Ferréz's first novel, Capão Pecado (2000) and the books of short stories Ninguém é inocente em São Paulo (2006) and Os ricos também morrem (2015). For better understanding the extension and limits of the hybridity represented by Deus foi almoçar as well as its effects, this dissertation intends to examine this novel in a critical analysis of the aspects of its formal structure, besides considering the metafictional reflection in the contrast among the studied novel, Ferréz's other works and the Brazilian contemporary literature scene. In the light of Marxist criticism regarding Frederic Jameson and postcolonial theory, Ferréz's literary journey as an esthetic in constant dialogue with the reality that surrounds him.
