Abstract in English
This dissertation seeks to analyze a set of songs, which deal with different themes from thecountry universe, analizing how its way of life, its culture and poetry are represented in theirsongs. In the light of Antonio Candido and Maria Isaura Pereira's researches, we talk aboutthe economics changes that mischaracterized the country bumpkin's life, culminating in a lossof traditionalism and, for those who migrated for the city, the difficulty of adapting to a newlocation. Furthermore, we seek to recognize the songs literary and social value, seeing them asa genre which is focused on the collective imagination, that has a utility character, feelings ofbelonging and communion with its social enviroment and and which functions as a way ofrerooting the country culture in the big city. From a look that includes folklore, sociology andliterary analysis, we seek to make it close to the reader, through words and images that evoke, the country singer vision about the universe, what encompasses its adaptability to the growingcapitalism, their respect to the holy, the beauty or the longing with wich they see theirhinterland and the feelings that don't escape any of us.
