Abstract in English
Geraldo Ferraz (1905-1979) was a journalist, a writer, and a critic of fine arts, architecture, and literature. Although he vastly contributed to the cultural scene of his time, his work has not been sufficiently remembered by the academia. In this M.A. thesis, I analyze Doramundo (1956), the authors second and last novel, in an attempt to remediate this gap in published studies. My reading proposes a sensitive interpretation of Ferraz's aesthetic experimentation efforts. Therefore, it is imperative to examine Ferraz's project of artistic, political and cultural revisions, which guided his work as a journalist, a writer and a critic.
