Este trabalho constitui um estudo acerca dos limites do registro ligados à história e à memória do povo português, tendo como base a obra Os memoráveis (2014) de Lídia Jorge. Elaborada por meio dos testemunhos ficcionais de personagens que participaram de alguma forma dos episódios que culminaram na queda da ditadura salazarista, a narrativa é perpassada pelos conceitos de memória coletiva e de memória histórica, uma vez que o mesmo fato histórico, neste caso o da Revolução dos Cravos, é visto e revisto por diferentes perspectivas. Esses relatos são coletados por três jovens jornalistas nascidos após a revolução, mas que tentam acessar por meio das memórias dessas personagens, distantes trinta anos dos acontecimentos, uma parte importante da história de seu país. O processo de reconstrução histórica proporcionado por cada um dos dez entrevistados na obra tem como tentativa identificar as limitações de um registro fiel dos fatos históricos em relação à fragilidade da memória, que tem como agravante a instabilidade ao longo do tempo. O conflito entre os testemunhos coletados por meio de entrevistas e, principalmente, a própria memória da protagonista e narradora, Ana Maria Machado, sobretudo àquela relacionada com sua figura paterna, o também jornalista António Machado, serão a base para esta análise. Buscar-se-á ainda investigar o conceito de pós-memória e o desdobramento deste para o desfecho do romance como forma de perceber como a reconstrução memorialística interfere no modo como a história é contada.

This work constitutes a study about the limits of the register linked to the history record and the memory of the Portuguese people, based on the book Os memoráveis (2014) by Lídia Jorge. Created through the fictional testimonies of characters who participated in some way in the episodes that culminated in the fall of the Salazarist dictatorship, the narrative is permeated by the concepts of collective memory and historical memory, since the same historical fact, in this case the Revolution of the Carnations, is viewed and reviewed from different perspectives. These accounts are collected by three young journalists born after the revolution, but who try to access through the memories of these characters, thirty years away from events, an important part of their country's history. The process of historical reconstruction provided by each of the ten interviewees in the work attempts to identify the limitations of a faithful record of historical facts in relation to the fragility of memory, which aggravates instability over time. The conflict between the testimonies collected through interviews and, mainly, the memory of the protagonist and narrator, Ana Maria Machado, especially the one related to her father figure, the journalist António Machado, will be the basis for this analysis. It will also seek to investigate the concept of post-memory and its unfolding to the outcome of the novel as a way to understand how memorial reconstruction interferes with the way the story is told. interferes with the way the story is told.
