Literatura portuguesa - história e crítica

Abstract in English
This study links the biography Isabel de Aragão Rainha Santa, by Vitorino Nemésio, to a Portuguese biographic-historical tradition whose origin is found in Fernão Lopes, who built with great descriptive talent the characters of his historiographic works. His prose presents not only the historian's gleam, but also the artist's word. Vitorino Nemésio goes on with such tradition by artfully uniting the historic to the literary element in the biography about Isabel de Aragão, Portugal's Queen and D. Dinis' wife
