Esta dissertação trata da análise do romance Estorvo, de Chico Buarque. Busca-se interpretar o romance em sua totalidade, abrangendo aspectos como a sociedade nele representada, a forma empregada pelo autor para desenvolver a narrativa, a construção das personagens etc. Buscando iluminar o romance, foi estudado o conjunto da obra do autor - música e literatura. Destacam-se no romance fatores como o caos e a dissolução do tecido social, bem como a violência presente na sociedade moderna. Foram também analisadas questões como a relação ordem/desordem no romance, a figura do duplo e a forma como o tempo é trabalhado pelo autor. A dissertação divide-se em cinco capítulos: Apresentação, Olho Mágico, Civilização Encruzilhada, O compositor, O escritor, e À Guisa de conclusão

This dissertation is an analysis of the novel Estorvo, by Chico Buarque. It surches to interprete the novel in it's totality, including aspects related to the society involved, the form utilized by the author to develop the narrative, the constrution of caracters etc. In order to throw some clarity on the novel, the hole work of the author has been studied - music and literature. In the novel subjects such as caos and the dissolution of the social tissue are highlighted, as well as the violence that is present in the modern society. It was also analised questions like the relation between order and desorder in the novel, the image of the double, the structure of time, as it was figured, by the author. The dissertation is divided in 5 chapters: Presentation, Magic Eye, Crossroad Civilization, The Writer, the Composer and Conclusion
