Abstract in English
This research aims to observe and analyze the figure of the femme fatale in the literature of Álvares de Azevedo, establishing a dialogue with the various representations of female figures in Romanticism. From such analyses, we hope to contribute to the discussion on the representation of feminine archetypes in Brazilian Romanticism, especially the femme fatale, bringing to light the formal and theoretical procedures underlying this representation. To do so, we will analyze Álvares de Azevedo's vision of women and the position female figures occupy in his lyrics, based on the analysis of poems from the first and second parts of Lira dos Vinte Anos. For the characterization of the femme fatale figure, we will analyze the poem "Lélia" and its relationship with the homonymous novel by George Sand. We conclude that the change in the representation of femme fatale in Azevedo is representative of the central position that this female figure occupies in the imaginary of romanticism.
