Abstract in English
This project points at the presence of the complex dominance relations present in the linguistic behaviour. It starts from the studies about the differences between male and female speech and takes the line of research which articulates language and society. In the comparative analysis of two bilingual groups from institutions for the elderly in São Paulo, this study shows that the categories are acquired and that language is socially constructed.
