Tradução juramentada

Abstract in English
The purpose of this study is to address several issues which are inherent to a Certified Translation as a specific type of translation, in its historical, legal and formal aspects. It addresses the issue of accuracy as related to the « fé pública » - in short, a legal assumption that a translation is true - and what this means in the translation act. Working with the Portuguese-French pair of languages, this study has attempted to determine the existence of an intercultural relation by comparing an original text to its translation, and identify some cultural markers linguistically expressed in twelve different Certified Translation versions of a Brazilian Transcript of Grades. It has also attempted to determine translators' inclinations in handling these markers in the linguistic-cultural dialog established in an interlanguage translation. Considering the extralinguistic differences found when two different educational systems are compared, this paper has reviewed the strategies used by translators to ensure sayability and maintain the communicative intention of the original
