Hate is part of humanity's affections, as Aristotle pointed out. However, it is observed that its use, as a performative device, has lately been acquiring relevance in several countries for political purposes. The discursive construction of hate, in the field of hegemonic dispute (LACLAU, 2005), takes place through the constitution of an "anomalous other" in opposition to the "normalizing us". Thus, we understand hate speech as a higher degree than ideological polarization (VAN DIJK, 2012) and dichotomous polarization in polemical discourse (AMOSSY, 2008). As a result, the work aims to show how the expressions of hatred contained in the statements made in the demonstrations against the governments of Cristina Kirchner, in Argentina, and Dilma Rousseff, in Brazil, known as "Cacerolazos" (2012-2014) and "Panelaços " (2015-2016), represent and extreme the process of construction of this feeling. It seeks to show how statements articulated around empty, identical or similar signifiers, through the same communicative impoliteness strategies, were used as a reactive expression to these political projects in both countries, despite the differences in their respective socio-historical formations. To verify this rhetorical-discursive phenomenon, the research was based on a corpus consisting of statements obtained from videos, posters and spontaneous testimonies from participants of both protests, permeated by hate speech, which are analyzed through relations of comparison and pointing out the thematic, discursive and semiotic regularities and differences used to express impoliteness, identity construction and "otherness". With the help of the comparative and historical method, it was possible to trace the contextual elements of the production of statements based on the socio-political and discursive aspects of the manifestations, and then, with the descriptive-analytical method, to carry out the analyzes themselves. As for the theoretical contribution, we start from the concepts of ideological polarization "we" x "them" described by Van Dijk (2005), and from the controversial discourse (AMOSSY, 2008); from studies of speech act theory, especially with regard to performativity (AUSTIN, 1982; RAJAGOPALAN, 2008); to detail the mechanisms and multiplier effects of hate speech, from contributions by Ahmed (2015), Kiffer (2019), Gorgi (2019) and Merlin (2019); and, on impoliteness, the contributions of Culpeper (2011) and Marlangeon (2005), from whom we take the categories of impoliteness by fustigation and exacerbated affiliation for classification and analysis of the corpus. The research is a contribution to understanding the discursive articulation and the empty signifiers around which impoliteness utterances were articulated, as well as the recurrent communicative impoliteness strategies in the discursive creation of hate, whose understanding is an essential condition to try to deactivate the sediments of this discourse of hatred still present in Argentine and Brazilian societies. The results sought to understand the phenomena treated in the light of theory, the data collected in these speech communities, and the analytical task of its interpretation.
