Abstract in English
This work aims to analyze the epistolary dialogue between master and squire contained in chapter LI of the second part of Cervantes' work, Don Quixote de la Mancha. For this purpose, we are guided by the rhetorical and poetic manuals of the time of circulation of the work itself, seeking a historical adaptation to the object of study. According to the examination of the letters exchanged between Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, it was observed that they follow the poetic principles in force at the time of circulation of the work and their speeches carry a specific intention, that is, while the knight has as his first intention the learning of Sancho, the squire, is concerned with possible social mobility, in the sense of not going hungry, eating plenty, marrying the children well and having a comfortable life. Also, it was possible to identify the incorporation of the letter subgenre to the poetic composition as a fundamental element of verisimilitude and construction of the comic present in the relationship between the two characters.
