Neste trabalho, apresento a tradução comentada de cinco poemas do livro Botschaften des Regens (1955), de Günter Eich (1907-1972), autor proeminente no contexto do pósguerra na Alemanha. Os poemas do corpus são todos estruturados em quadras, podendo ser relacionados ao gênero da Volkslied, ou canção popular, e fazem parte de um ciclo de poemas que visita as quatro estações do ano, sendo também exemplares da lírica da natureza. O trabalho se inicia por uma extensa biografia do autor, que abarca sua vida e obra, e pretende relacioná-la aos poemas do corpus no momento da análise e interpretação. Em seguida, o trabalho se debruça sobre a teoria da tradução e, mais especificamente, a tradução literária de poesia, a fim de fundamentar teoricamente as traduções que serão feitas. Este capítulo inclui ainda discussões sobre ritmo e notações que norteiam a análise dos poemas. Por fim, as traduções, apresentadas em etapas, são precedidas por paráfrases, análises detalhadas e interpretações dos poemas, e procedidas por tabelas comparativas com os originais. A pesquisa tem como resultado a tradução de cinco poemas do alemão para o português, acompanhados de uma leitura crítica abrangente. Além disso, oferece um panorama da vida e obra do autor, discute questões em torno da tradução literária e do conceito de ritmo.

This study presents the annotated translation of five poems from the book Botschaften des Regens (1955), by Günter Eich (1907-1972), a prominent author in post-war Germany. The poems are structured in quatrains, being related to the genre of Volkslied, (folk song), and are part of a lyric cycle which visits the four seasons of the year, being also typical of nature lyric. The study begins with an extensive biography of the author, covering his life and work, and intends to relate it to the poems of the corpus during their analysis and interpretation. Subsequently, it addresses translation studies and, more specifically, poetry literary translation, in order to theoretically substantiate the translations that will be done. This chapter includes also discussions on rhythm and notations that will guide the analysis of the poems. The translations, presented in stages, are preceded by paraphrases, detailed analyses and interpretations of the poems, and proceeded by charts comparing the translations with the original poems. The research results in the translation of five poems from German into Portuguese, accompanied by a comprehensive critical reading. It provides an overview of the author's life and work as well and a discussion on literary translation and the concept of rhythm.
