Abstract in English
During fourteen years, Franz Kafka kept twelve diaries and he chose the act of writing as the main motto of his entries: most of his notes are experiments for short stories and novels, but they are also and always reflections on the task of writing and the task of the writer. The use of the diaries as a place for literary experimentation, where he transcribed a large amount of his fictional sketches, reveals the hybrid characteristic of these notebooks, which suggests that they were kept in favor of a literary and personal project: to obtain recognition of what he understood as his singularity. Mainly supported by studies dedicated to the autobiographical genre and concepts of philosophy and sociology, this thesis aims to investigate the particularities of his practice, identifying the role of these diaries in Kafka's perception and constitution as a writer and as a person.
