Abstract in English
This work consists of a translation comprehending the two Cicero's books De inuentione and an introdutory study. The ars retorica as a work with no specific precepts is a gender well-grounded in models and established by tradition. The study examins the forewords of the most recent translations of the work and proposes a rhetoric reading through the concept of auctoritas, further to the traditional readings that favor the context, the material conditions and the subjectiveness of the author.
