O presente trabalho se propõe a analisar a construção semântica de compostos neológicos de tipo S+S no português brasileiro contemporâneo. Para isso, utilizaremos como referencial teórico conceitos desenvolvidos no âmbito dos estudos de Linguística Cognitiva, especialmente a Teoria da Mesclagem Conceptual, ou Blending, de Fauconnier & Turner (2002; 2003) e a Morfologia Construcional, de Booij (2005; 2007; 2010), desenvolvida no Brasil por Gonçalves (2016b). Acolhemos como hipótese de trabalho, que procuraremos desenvolver na análise, a ideia de que as chamadas composições nominais formadas por dois substantivos em justaposição são, em essência, materializações linguísticas de processos cognitivos gerais, como a capacidade de operar com domínios cognitivos diferentes, mesclando-os em estruturas esquemáticas de conhecimento, as quais, por sua vez, promovem a criação lexical. Finalmente, defenderemos também que, a partir do surgimento dessas criações neológicas, elas passam a servir, a seu turno, como modelos para novas criações. Isso tudo ocorre, a nosso ver, impulsionado pela capacidade cognitiva humana de operar por analogias. A fim de nos guiar na análise das composições neológicas nominais S+S, basear-nos-emos em questionamentos semasiológicos - quais são os significados possíveis para o neologismo em análise e quais os recursos utilizados pelos falantes para interpretá-los corretamente? - e onomasiológicos - por que o falante utilizou o recurso da composição, e não outro, para expressar o conceito que tinha em mente? Os neologismos compostos foram encontrados em textos publicados, no ano de 2014, em 89 blogues jornalísticos veiculados pela Folha de S. Paulo, revista Veja e Portal UOL, acrescidos de textos publicados entre 2015 e 2017 em blogues políticos da revista IstoÉ. Os candidatos a neologismos foram recolhidos de modo semiautomático por meio do software Extrator de Neologismos (FFLCH-USP/NILC-USP São Carlos) e atestados pela verificação nos dicionários Houaiss eletrônico, Aurélio e Michaelis.

This study aims to analyse the semantic construction of neological N+N compounds in contemporary Brazilian Portuguese. For that, we will use, as theoretical reference, some concepts developed within the scope of the studies in Cognitive Linguistics, specially the Blending Theory by Fauconnier & Turner (2002; 2003) and the Construction Morphology by Booij (2005; 2007; 2010), developed in Brazil by Gonçalves (2016b). We admitted as a working hypothesis, that we will try to develop during the analysis, the idea that those named nominal compositions formed by two juxtaposed nouns are, in essence, linguistic materializations of more general cognitive processes, as the capacity to operate with different cognitive domains and blend them in schematic structures of knowledge that, in turn, promote lexical creation. Finally, we will also defend that, from the emergence of those neological creations, they start to serve, in turn, as models for new creations. All of this occurs, in our view, driven by the cognitive capacity to operate analogically. In order to guide us in the analysis of the nominal N+N neological compositions, we will be based in both semasiological - which are the possible meanings for the neologism put under analisys? Which are the resources used by the speakers to correctly interpret them? - and onomasiological questions - why did the speaker use the composition process, and nor other one, to express the concept in mind? The neologisms formed by composition were found in diverse texts published, in 2014, in 89 journalistic weblogs aired by Folha de S. Paulo, Veja magazine and Portal UOL. To this corpus were added the texts published between 2015 and 2017 in political weblogs aired by IstoÉ magazine. The possible neologisms were collected semi-automatically by Extrator de Neologismos, a software developed by FFLCH-USP and NILC-USP São Carlos, and after that, their existance was verified in three dictionaries: Houaiss eletrônico, Aurélio and Michaelis.
