Abstract in English
This research has the objective to analyze and understand strategies adopted, in familiar environment, in the teaching and maintenance of Portuguese as a HL during the pandemic of Covid-19. It was applied an online questionnaire, containing 26 questions, targeting parents of children and teenagers speakers of Portuguese language as a HL living in different countries. Taking into consideration the actual global social isolation, it is hypothesized that, there have been a reduced guarantee in the maintenance of the HL during the coronavirus outbreak. However, considering that the Internet use became a key-factor for families in daily communication, it is expected that web-based interactions have been the main resource for the maintenance and teaching of the HL. The methodological tools for the analysis derive from the Cognitive-functional Linguistics theory (Givón, 2009), enhanced with interdisciplinary dialogue between the Neuroscience and the Cognitive Psychology (Damásio, 2011; Tomasello, 2003), in a sociocultural and anthropological perspective (Hymes, 1968; Geertz, 1997). The results coming from this investigation will be able to provide a rescue of the applied procedures in this difficult period, in order to preliminary family planning could be done in the future during further and possible difficulties succeeding, ensuring less damage to teaching and learning of HLs.
