A presente dissertação analisa as políticas de internacionalização da Universidade de São Paulo, discutindo as implicações que elas trazem para a realidade acadêmica. Examinamos qual é a língua constituída em documentos oficiais da USP sobre internacionalização, observando as políticas linguísticas que a universidade fomenta e propaga. Analisamos as imagens de língua presentes nos textos e nos discursos dos estudantes estrangeiros, coletadas em entrevistas semiestruturadas. Também investigamos quais imagens são construídas em dois materiais didáticos de ensino de português para imigrantes. Dessa maneira, debatemos as tensões e as diferentes imagens que circulam nas instâncias argumentadoras Estado, Universidade e Comunidade, buscando uma relação entre elas. O objetivo geral desta dissertação é descrever e analisar as imagens de língua que circulam nos espaços acadêmicos da USP. As metodologias empregadas na pesquisa foram análise do discurso de linha francesa, análise documental, estudos de caso; para as transcrições das entrevistas, nos baseamos nas orientações de Marcuschi (2006), e para as transcrições dos textos, nos fundamentamos nos princípios da Paleografia e da Crítica Textual, por meio da apresentação de edição fac-similar dos textos e da transcrição diplomática, presentes em Castro (1997), Berwanger e Leal (2008), e Spina (1994). Os referenciais teóricos da pesquisa foram Bourdieu (2008), que desenvolve os conceitos de silenciamento, expropriação linguística e capital cultural e linguístico; Foucault (2000), que apresenta o conceito de língua binária e de invisibilização; Rama (2015), que aborda a noção de cidade letrada; Pêcheux, que discorre acerca das condições de produção do discurso e conceitua a noção de formações imaginárias; também Osakabe (1999), que retoma algumas questões propostas por Pêcheux, das quais o locutor deve levar em conta a imagem que faz do referente.

This dissertation analyzes the internationalization policies of the University of São Paulo, discussing the implications they bring to the academic reality. We examine which language is constituted in official USP documents on internationalization, observing the language policies that the university promotes and propagates. We analyzed the language images present in the texts and speeches of foreign students, collected in semi-structured interviews. We also investigated which images are constructed in two didactic materials for teaching Portuguese to immigrants. In this way, we debate the tensions and the different images that circulate in the State, University and Community argumentative instances, seeking a relationship between them. The general objective of this dissertation is to describe and analyze the language images that circulate in the academic spaces of USP. The methodologies employed in the research were analysis of discourse - based on the French line -, documental analysis, case study; for the transcriptions of the interviews, we based on the guidelines of Marcuschi (2006), and for the transcriptions of the texts, we based on the principles of Paleography and Textual Criticism, through the presentation of facsimile editing of the texts and the diplomatic transcription, present in Castro (1997), Berwanger and Leal (2008), and Spina (1994). The theoretical references of the research were Bourdieu (2008), who develops the concepts of silencing, linguistic expropriation and cultural and linguistic capital; Foucault (2000), who presents the concept of binary language and invisibilization; Rama (2015), which addresses the notion of literate city; Pêcheux, who discusses the conditions of discourse production and conceptualizes the notion of imaginary formations; also Osakabe (1999), which takes up some questions proposed by Pêcheux, of which the speaker must take into account the image he has of the referent.
