A virada do século XIX para o XX trouxe para o campo das ciências um novo paradigma. Ferdinand de Saussure e Sigmund Freud apostam, cada um a seu modo, no signo como mediador entre o homem e o mundo. Suas teorias avançaram ao longo do século passado, trazendo, a partir de Saussure, o surgimento da Semiótica Francesa, com A. J. Greimas e, com Jacques Lacan, a psicanálise freudiana encontra a linguística de Saussure. A tese do inconsciente estruturado como uma linguagem do psicanalista francês é calcada na noção de signo trazida pelo linguista genebrino. A leitura do signo saussuriano serviu a Lacan para seu retorno à Freud e seu entendimento do conceito de inconsciente, mas a Semiótica nos mostra que os caminhos que os linguistas percorrem com o signo são diferentes dos que o psicanalista fez. O objetivo dessa pesquisa é buscar uma retomada de diálogo entre as teorias, trazendo à tona suas diferenças, principalmente no que tange ao entendimento do que é e como se trabalha o signo. Para a discussão teórica, além dos autores já citados, contamos com Fiorin (2003; 2013; 2016) e Barros (1999) para pensarmos a Semiótica e com Quinet (2012), e Garcia-Roza (2008; 2009) para discutir a psicanálise. Uma vinheta clínica de uma sessão de psicanálise lacaniana foi analisada tanto sob a perspectiva da Semiótica de Greimas quanto sob o ponto de vista da psicanálise. Um mesmo objeto sob leituras das duas teorias mostrou como cada uma constrói sua forma de análise a partir de seu referencial teórico e suas aproximações e distanciamentos. Das semelhanças e oposições entre as análises depreende-se que uma interface entre ambas as teorias não é tangível enquanto a noção de linguagem, sujeito e significante for demasiadamente diferente entre elas.

The turn of the 19th to the 20th century brought a new paradigm to the field of sciences. Ferdinand de Saussure and Sigmund Freud believe, each one in his own way, in the sign as a mediator between men and the world. Their theories advanced over the past century. Based on Saussure, French Semiotics emerged (by A. J. Greimas), and, with Jacques Lacan's developments, Freudian psychoanalysis meets Saussure's linguistics. The French psychoanalyst's thesis of the unconscious structured as a language is based on the notion of sign brought by the Genevan linguist. The reading of the Saussurian sign was useful to Lacan for his return to Freud and his understanding of the concept of the unconscious, but Semiotics shows us that the paths that linguists took with the sign are different from the ones the psychoanalyst did. The objective of this research is to seek a resumption of dialogue between the theories, bringing out their differences, mainly in terms of understanding what the sign is and how it is dealt with. For the theoretical discussion, in addition to the authors already mentioned, we count on Fiorin (2003; 2013; 2016) and Barros (1999) to think about Semiotics, and on Quinet (2012) and Garcia-Roza (2008; 2009) to discuss psychoanalysis. A clinical vignette from a Lacanian psychoanalysis session was analyzed both from the perspective of Greimasian Semiotics and from the point of view of psychoanalysis. The same object under readings of the two theories showed how each one constructs its form of analysis from its theoretical framework and their approximations and distances. From the similarities and oppositions between the analyses it appears that an interface between both theories is not tangible as long as the notions of language, subject and signifier are much different between them.
