Esse trabalho discute a posição assumida pelo fonoaudiólogo frente à fala sintomática de crianças e, para isso, põe em questão a natureza da interpretação vigente na clínica de linguagem. A razão que justifica o direcionamento dado ao trabalho reside no fato de que uma teoria sobre a prática, capaz de explicar seja um sucesso, seja um fracasso terapêutico, não poderá ser alcançada antes de um levantamento prévio de questões decorrentes dessa clínica. A forte presença da noção de comunicação, em uma clínica oficializada como de linguagem, será ponto inicial de questionamento, uma vez que com a vigência de tal noção, a linguagem é reduzida a instrumento de troca e de expressão de realidades internas. Diante disso, pretende-se contrapor uma concepção de linguagem como funcionamento, a partir da reflexão de autores que, por admitirem a existência da ordem própria da língua, introduzem uma via alternativa para se pensar a comunicação e a produção de sentidos. Na discussão dos segmentos de sessão de terapia, atenção será dada ao fato de o fonoaudiólogo não se deixar afetar pelo jogo significante que compõe o todo da fala da criança, à medida que, frente a essa fala, a posição assumida por ele é identificada ou com a de "senhor do sentido", ou com a posição de professor. Por outro lado, serão assinaladas aquelas ocorrências em que, ao abandonar a posição de saber, o fonoaudiólogo escuta a densidade significante da fala da criança. Diferentemente dos anteriores, esses casos promovem a relação da criança com a própria fala e, por esse motivo, indicam uma possível direção para se pensar uma interpretação fonoaudiológica. Deve-se dizer que o Interacionismo, cujas bases foram assentadas por Cláudia de ) Lemos, é mantido em posição de alteridade, uma vez que a articulação língua-fala-sujeito, que constitui o cerne dessa teoria, permite tirar conseqüências sobre a posição do outro-terapeuta na clínica de linguagem

The paper discusses the position assumed by speech therapist regarding symptomatic speech in children, thus raising the issue of the nature of interpretation in the speech-language clinic. The reason that justifies the direction lent to the paper is based on the fact that a theory on practice which explains whether a therapy is a success or a failure shall not be achieved unless a previous and comprehensive survey is conducted on issues resulting from this clinic. The strong presence of a notion of communication - in an official speech-language clinic - shall be a starting point to be questioned in the paper, since in the presence of this notion the language is reduced to an instrument of expression of inner realities and exchange. Thus, the purpose is to oppose a speech-language conception as a functioning scheme, based on some authors' reflection, who - because they accept the existence of the order proper to language -, introduce an alternative concept on communication and production of meanings. By discussing excerpts from therapy sessions, the paper intends to focus especially on the fact that speech therapists do not allow themselves to be affected by the signifier play that forms the whole of child speech. Confronted with this speech, the position assumed by the practitioners is identified as being either that of the "lord of meaning" or that of a teacher. Moreover, attention will be drawn to specific circumstances in which speech therapists, by relinquishing their position of knowledge, listen the signifier density in children's speech. Unlike previous cases, these foster children to relate with their own speech, thus indicating a possible direction towards thinking about an interpretation of speech-language pathology. It should be stressed that Interactionism, whose bases were set by Cláudia de Lemos, is kept in a position of otherness, since the language-speech-subject articulation, which is the essence of this theory, allows one to foresee consequences on the other-therapist position in the speech therapy clinic
