Abstract in English
The publication of translated literature in Brazil reached its peak between 1930 and 1950. Editora Globo, the most important publishing house in Brasil at that time, had in its team of translators some of the best known Brazilian writers. One of these translators was the novelist Erico Verissimo, who was also a literary advisor and a translation editor. This thesis carries out an investigation on Verissimo's work during the "Golden Age" of literary translation in Brazil, on the relation between his activities as a translator and writer, as well as on his thoughts on translation
