Esta dissertação trata da terminologia do Trabalho de Campo em Arqueologia, da delimitação, compilação e estudo de sua terminologia e estrutura conceitual. O objetivo central desta pesquisa foi a configuração do sistema conceitual da Arqueologia de Campo, bem como o levantamento, análise e descrição dos dados que integram o Vocabulário Sistemático da Arqueologia de Campo, ponto inicial e produto final deste trabalho. Delimitou-se, primeiramente, a bibliografia de referência, o corpus de pesquisa escrito e uma aplicação da Lingüística de corpus por meio de uma amostragem eletrônica. Em seguida, foram elaboradas fichas terminológicas que geraram as informações que permitiram a análise e descrição dos termos constitutivos da nomenclatura do Vocabulário. Procedeu-se, ainda, à análise e descrição morfo-semântico-sintática dessas unidades terminológicas. Tal análise mostrou, dentre outros aspectos, a existência de poucos termos importados da língua inglesa e de um grande número de termos transportados de outras áreas do conhecimento que possuem ligações intrínsecas com a Arqueologia, bem como uma porcentagem significativa de termos específicos da área.O trabalho permitiu detectar a riqueza conceitual terminológica e pragmática desta Área do Conhecimento

The present dissertation deals with the delimitation, compilation and study of the Field Work terminology in Archaeology and the study of its terminology and conceptual structure.The main objective of this research was the Field Archaeology conceptual system configuration, as well as the compilation, analysis and description of data which integrates the Field Archaeology Systematic Vocabulary, starting point and final product of this work. Firstly, the reference bibliography was delimited.Then, the written corpus was settled and also was an application of the Corpus Linguistics through an eletronic sampling. Afterwards, terminological cards were elaborated to generate information that allowed the analysis and description of the terms constituting the nomenclature of the Vocabulary.The morphosyntatic-semantic analysis and description of these terminological units were also carried out. Such analysis demonstrated, among other aspects, the existence of a few imported terms from English language and a great number of terms transported from other field of knowledge that have intrinsic connections with Archaeology as well a percentage of specific terms of this field.The research allowed to detect the terminologic conceptual and pragmatic richness of this Field of Knowledge
