Esta tese analisa os discursos expositivos relativos à temática da Revolução Mexicana existentes no Museu Nacional de História da Cidade do México no período compreendido entre a década de 1940, correspondendo à criação desta instituição no auge da política nacionalista do presidente Cárdenas, e a década de 1980, correspondendo à última grande reorganização das salas expositivas na gestão presidencial de José López Portillo. Os objetivos desta pesquisa concentram-se na verificação das relações existentes entre a memória produzida nesta instituição e suas articulações com o poder político constituído no México, no sentido de verificar qual o papel das imagens e dos objetos museológicos na formação de um imaginário legitimador a respeito da nação e da identidade nacional mexicana. Centrando-se na temática da Revolução Mexicana, é analisada a formação e a organização das coleções do museu, a concepção e a montagem das exposições, assim como a representação e a memória deste fato histórico por meio das mudanças ocorridas nos discursos expositivos, relacionando-os com os contextos políticos vividos no país. Finalmente, são pesquisadas as concepções de museu, de história e de nação que orientaram a formação e a consolidação desta instituição

This thesis analyzes the expositive speeches related to the Mexican Revolution that are in the National History Museum (Museu Nacional de História da Cidade do México), between the 1940s, period that corresponds to the creation of this institution at the peak of the nationalist politics of President Cárdenas, and the 1980s, that corresponds to the last great reorganization of the expositive rooms in the presidential mandate of José López Portillo. The objectives of this research concentrate on the verification of existing relations between the memory produced in this institution and its articulations with the political power constituted in Mexico in order to verify the role of the images and the objects of the museum in the formation of a legitimate imaginary in relation to the Nation and the Mexican National Identity. Focusing on the Mexican Revolution theme, the formation and the organization of the museum´s collections, the conception and the setting of exhibitions are analyzed. The representation and the memory of this historic fact are observed through the changes that occured in the expositive speeches, relating them with the political contexts of the country. Finally, I research the conceptions of museum, history and nation that guided the formation and consolidation of this institution
