Abstract in English
The objective of this work is to study the radio recordings and the educational booklets of the program Bachillerato por Radio between 1973 and 1982. From the theoretical-methodological contribution given by the History of Representations, Education and the Book, I intend to expose and analyze three cardinal aspects. The first seeks, through a historical journey from the beginning of the 20th century of secondary education in the country, to understand the historical conditions that resulted in the promotion and realization of the program Bachillerato por Radio. According to my interpretation, the idealization and realization of this was the result of the scarce, fragile and unequal national coverage of the national educational system, leading to the creation of remedial educational systems that sought the absorption of sectors of the population into the industry. The second aims to analyze the representations of political leaders and some social sectors on the layers of the population that made up the idea of the popular, showing that Bachillerato was clothed with prejudiced perceptions about the poorest sectors of Colombian society and of the developmental doctrine that permeated the social policies of the time. The third deepens how the representations about the popular groups were reflected in the radio program, resulting in characterizations where the popular was related and defined, in a contradictory way, with the supposed lag and defect of the poorest populations of the country and with the potential of inclusion of the students of the program to the economic and social progress of Colombia. In this way, the key modernity and development/popular and backwardness shaped the discourse that sustained the conception of the Colombian popular populations. These opposing definitions shaped and delineated what, within the radio program, would be the traditions and attitudes of the users, frequently reinforced by the scientific method and by the benefactor status of the state educational program.
