Abstract in English
The research aims to analyze how communists and integralists were represented by the press of Bauru/SP, from the perspective of defending the social order, between the years 1934 and 1938. By comparing these representations, we seek to understand the political positions of the newspapers related to these groups and how the political action of the press defending the social order occurred, by verifying the changes and differences between the positions of the newspapers over the defined period. The hypothesis presented here is that, to defend the maintenance of the order and the private property, the papers represented the communists as enemies of society, as dangerous people to the maintenance of the order, meanwhile the integralists suffered criticisms nuanced by part of these newspapers, and, at times, even receiving support from the press' representatives, according to ongoing events at local, state or national level.
