Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar o cenário pugilístico paulista e brasileiro entre os anos 1928 e 1953, buscando identificar quais era os principais agentes, personagens e condições dentro deste universo. O trabalho constituiu na identificação e análise de fontes primárias, produção e estudo de entrevistas, pesquisa em fontes jornalísticas e análise de fontes secundárias que lançaram luz ao boxe em São Paulo entre as décadas de 1920 e 50. Buscou-se compreender como o boxe circulou pela cidade em seus diferentes períodos, quais foram as condições de desenvolvimento e solidificação deste esporte na cidade. A pesquisa se aprofunda em qual era o cenário e o ambiente deste esporte antes das primeiras conquistas internacionais do boxe brasileiro, que tiveram início no final da década de 1950. Treinadores pioneiros, treinadores modernos, locais onde ocorriam lutas de boxe, desenvolvimento da modalidade em grupos esportivos, competições históricas, imigração, grupos sociais que praticaram boxe e engajamento político são alguns dos temas abordados nesta pesquisa de mestrado.

This research aimed to analyze the scenario bocing of São Paulo and Brazil between 1928 and 1953, trying to identify which were the main agents, characters and conditions within this universe. The research consisted of identifying and analyzing primary sources, producing and studying interviews, researching journalistic sources, and analyzing secondary sources that shed light on boxing in São Paulo between the 1920s and 50s. We sought to understand how boxing circulated. by the city in its different periods, what were the conditions of development and solidification of this sport in the city. The research goes deeper into what was the scenario and particularities of this sport before the firsts international achievements of brazilian boxing, which began in the late 1950s. Pioneer coaches, modern coaches, places where boxing took place, development of the sport in Sports Clubs, historical competitions, immigration, social groups who boxing and political engagement are some of the topics covered in this master's research.
