Abstract in English
This research analyzes the differences and relevance of three ritual practices representations most present in our sources: the offering, the sacrifice and the dressing. Two sorces were analyzed in this investigation: the first one, from a Christian thought, Historia General de las cosas de Nueva España, written by Fray Bernardino Sahagún and his indigenous students. The second, of Nahua thought and pictoglyphic writing, the Borbonic Codex. For this investigation, first we prepared an inventory of the most recurrent ritual practices in the central Mexican altiplano region, based on the record present in the Historia General de las cosas de Nueva España. Second, we verified the presence of the inventoried practices and characters in the Borbônico Codex to assess the relevance of the practices represented in the sources of different thoughts. Finally, we concluded that, although the two documents deal with similar themes, the practices represented in the xiuhpohualli festivities, there is a distinct relevance in their representation, which is related to the nature of the source: in the Christian thought, the representation of the sacrifice and the offering practices was more relevant than the other practices. In our Nahua thought source, the relevance was from the offering and the dressing practices.
