A presente pesquisa investiga o processo de formação de estudos específicos sobre as mulheres e, posteriormente, sobre as relações de gênero na historiografia brasileira das décadas finais do século XX. Para tanto, foi produzido um levantamento de dissertações e teses de História que tematizavam mulheres, concluídas entre 1973 e 2001. A partir dele, foram analisadas as relações de orientação e participação em bancas de defesa, a inserção institucional das autoras e orientadoras, assim como outras relações que entretiveram. Dessa forma, buscou-se reconstruir o espaço social em que foram realizadas as primeiras pesquisas sobre mulheres. A tentativa expressa neste trabalho foi sair das interpretações exclusivamente teóricas para explicar a emergência de uma agenda de pesquisas e associá-la a questões práticas, a disputas práticas entre produtores de pesquisas em História.

The present research investigates the process of formation of specific studies on women and, later, on gender relations in the Brazilian historiography of the final decades of the 20th century. To this end, a survey of dissertations and theses of History that dealt with women and were concluded between 1973 and 2001, was produced. From this, the orientation relationships and participation in defense panels, the institutional insertion of the authors and advisors, as well as other relationships they entertained are analyzed. In this way, we sought to reconstruct the social space in which the first research on women was carried out. The attempt expressed in this work was to leave the exclusively theoretical interpretations to explain the emergence of a research agenda and associate it with practical questions, with practical disputes between producers of research in History.
