Abstract in English
The present work aims to reconstruct the individual trajectories of those who were accused of behaving "inadequately" according to catholic doctrine, those named blasphemers or heretic proponents. This analysis bases itself on inquisitorial processes arising from the Portuguese Holy Office visits to Brazil, with emphasis on the First Visit (1591-1595) conducted by Heitor Furtado de Mendonça. In order to comprehend who these hesitant individuals were, as well as the cultural and social relationships and practices of which they were denounced, the author performed a detailed search through the heretic crime records, namely the heretic crimes of expression. From this investigation, we will verify the existence of resistance to the inquisitorial watch in the colony across the centuries.
