O presente trabalho tem como objeto o estudo das ações no campo da memória a respeito de Marco Antônio, um importante político e militar de fins da República romana. Nosso personagem foi alvo de diferentes ações memorialísticas: o lembrar, o esquecer, o silenciar e o reabilitar. Buscando compreender por que e como as memórias sobre Marco Antônio foram construídas, preservadas, apagadas e reabilitadas, dividimos nossa análise na observação dos canais de transmissão e compartilhamento de memórias, os atores (individuais e grupos sociais) envolvidos nesse processo e as temáticas mobilizadas, ou não, sobre Marco Antônio, pois a memória ao ser compartilhada é feita em grupo, com a seleção de referenciais do passado, por meio do uso de determinado suporte comunicativo. Para tanto, lançamos luz a diferentes fontes antigas, tanto escritas, quanto da cultura material.

The present thesis has as its object the study of the actions related to the memory regarding Mark Antony, an important politician and military leader at the end of the Roman Republic. Our main character was the target of different memoralistic actions: remembering, forgetting, silencing, and rehabilitating. To understand how the memories regarding Mark Antony were built, preserved, erased, and rehabilitated, we divided our analysis into the observation of channels for the transmission and sharing of memories, the actors (both individuals and social groups) involved in this process, and the mobilized themes, both regarding or not, Mark Antony, because the sharing of memory is done by a group, with a selection of references from the past, through the use of certain communication support. To do so, we shed light on different ancient sources, both written and material culture.
