A história judaica o período desde a destruição do Segundo Templo, no ano 70EC até a compilação do Talmud em 500EC é essencial para demarcar as bases da cultura que irá se estender por toda a Idade Média.Período em que as perseguições serão constantes e a cultura do exílio da terra santa irá se concretizar.Esta época, bem como a época posterior, até a compilação do Mishné Torá, de Maimônides, será intensamente marcada pela produção do gênero literário conhecido Midrash (p. midrashim). Uma espécie de exegese feita pelos sábios com a liberdade da lenda. Gênero este que, pouco a pouco, irá aglutinar elementos da tradição judaica com os novos problemas que estarão sendo enfrentados por essas comunidades. Sendo assim, um rico material para o estudo dos valores deste povo nesta época. O Midrash Rabbah é a principal compilação de midrashim feita na época do Talmude. Em sua primeira parte, o Bereshit Rabbah isolamos a narrativa de José do Egito. A interpretação desta obra isola os elementos mais marcantes da narrativa de José e permite traçar eixos comparativos com outros midrashim da época e com outros textos correlatos das outras vertentes monoteístas. Abrangendo desde valores como o da primogenitura, da vida humana, da relação entre irmãos e entre pai e filho, a riqueza de tal documento se estende até o principal elemento que permeia todas as outras questões que é o messianismo judaico medieval

This dissertation is about the Jewish history from the period of the destruction of the Second Temple to the compilation of the Talmud.(70CE to 500CE). This period is essential to understading the bases of the Jewish culture in the Middle Ages. It was a period of constant struggling for surviving and the period of the permanent Exile. Since 70CE to the final of the Middle Ages the production of a special literary genre is constant, this it the Midrash (p. Midrashim).It`s similar to an exegesis made by the wisdom but it has the liberty of creation, like a legend. This literary genre agglutinate elements of the Jewish tradition to the new problems that the jews were suffering by that time. The Midrash Rabbah is the most important compilation of midrashim made before the 7th. century. The first part of this compilation is the Bereshit Rabbah, it`s about the genesis book, called "Bereshit" by the Jews. We isolated in this book the history of Joseph. Analyzing this narrative it`s possible to make parallelisms to other midrashim and other correlated text in other monotheist religions. The values treated in this compilation there are the value of life and the primogeniture, the relations among father and sons, the symbolism and the most important, the elements of the Jewish messianic ideas
