Abstract in English
This academic work aims to contribute to the field of political and economic history of post-war Brazil studying the relationship between the party system operating in São Paulo state politics in 1945-1965 and the distributive conflict. It uses theoretical assumptions of Positive Political Economy when profiling political parties, looking how they expressed themselves in São Paulo politics, their electoral performance and what alliances they made, as well as the states governments and elaborates an empirical analysis of how the allocation of power between political parties was related to the distribution of resources in the budget.
