O trabalho ora apresentado tem como objetivo central mapear e compreender o sistema de compadrio e apadrinhamento no município de Ribeirão Preto, entre os anos de 1872 a 1888. Amparada pela história da formação fundiária do território, bem como o surgimento e o percurso da temática no campo da demografia histórica, a pesquisa lança mão de registros originais de batismos de livres e ingênuos do município, a fim de delinear o perfil sacramentário, no âmbito religioso e social, que ambos os grupos incorporavam no período susodito

The main objective of this paper is to map and understand the system of cronysm and godparenting in the municipality of Ribeirão Preto, between the years 1872 and 1888. Supported by the history of land formation in the territory, as well as the rise and development of the theme in the field of historical demography, this research makes use of original records of baptisms of free and ingênuos children in the region, in order to trace the sacramental profile, in the religious and social spheres, that both groups embodied during this period
