Abstract in English
Analyzing the production of urban space with an emphasis on debates on housing involves the approach of space as a social product marked by contradictions that reveal an uneven production. In this perspective, this thesis addresses the production of space in Marabá (PA), based on the central question of analyzing how the installation of the My House My Life Program, track 1, reveals the contradictions of the production of urban space in Marabá (PA), from the logic of housing production as a commodity mediated by the approach of the daily lives of its inhabitants, the characteristics of the program and the contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of (dis) continuities in an Amazon city. To that end, theoretical discussions were elaborated involving the central themes of housing, production of space and daily life, mediated by readings on the dynamics that integrate Marabá inserted in the Amazon context, but with interventions of a Project acting on a national scale. Located in the southeast of Pará, the understandings of the debates in Marabá were aided by direct observations during field activities, interviews with the residents of Eden's Garden Residential and analyzes of the prices charged for the m2 of land in Marabá, added to the analysis of the (des) continuities verified in the production of housing as a commodity, mediated by investigations on a metropolitan scale, adopting as a subsidy studies carried out in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. Thinking about Eden's Garden Residential, we noticed a conceived space marked by the adoption of a project that followed the precepts of determinations on a national scale, originating from the associations between State and Companies that disregards local peculiarities, such as the drainage system for a region with expressive rainfall flows at a certain time of the year. A routine that reveals a process of constituting segregation in the residential itself, marked by unequal access to other spaces in the city, and to essential services, but also a process of differentiation observed between Housing Unit that show significant changes, and those that still maintain the characteristics of the initial project, a fact that leads to reflections on an appreciation not only in the surrounding land, but also in the residential itself. The characterization of the My House My Life Programs performance in the Metropolitan region of Sao Paulo, even with the predominance of analyzes on the Entities modality, revealed similarities and differentiations when associated with the reading about Marabá in the context of an Amazonian city. In addition, because it is an insertion in the world of merchandise, even in a housing program, the purchasing capacity prevails, with a portion of the population that does not have resources for the purchase of the merchandise remaining without access, reinforcing the contradictory logic of the production of the product. space mediated by the interests of specific groups.
